As stay-at-home orders and social distancing became the new normal amidst the upheaval of the COVID-19 crisis, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls has continued to fulfill our mission of caring for children and families in need. In many ways, life goes on as normal, albeit with a few adjustments.
While we reduced our physical, on-site community to minimize the risk of infection, the kids who live at Mercy Home maintain many of the same routines and fun activities they always have. Under the care of a group of dedicated coworkers who committed to working in isolated shifts, our kids study during the day, check in with tutors or therapists in the afternoon, and enjoy dinner in our cafeteria in the evening. At night, after completing chores, they head to our soccer building and basketball gym for some games of friendly competition.
We hope you draw inspiration from these photos, which show just how resilient and positive our kids can be in the face of adversity. Thanks to your support, our children can rely on us to always be there when they need us most.
