With a threat of rain in the forecast and temperatures in the 40s, it had the potential to be a rough day. But the rain stayed away, and the team shined in its first ever appearance at this race.
Each runner had the goal of raising $250 for Mercy Home and we greatly exceeded that number in raising more than $5,000 collectively. Three of our coworkers, Becky Stevens, Maisha Lowery and SaShay Butler, raised a combined $1,135 with SaShay’s $570 leading the way.
We are so proud of all those who took part, many of whom ran their longest race ever in the 8-kilometer (4.97-mile) event.
