Mercy Home’s generous, longtime friend Suzanne Zaccone always makes sure that our young women have beautiful gowns to wear to their proms. She recently took four of our young people, including Community Care members, to shop for dresses at Peaches Boutique in Chicago. Gewanda Monroe, Cynthia Velasquez, and Molly Riley also joined in the fun.
Our group was met by Peaches’ owners and founders, the Surdej family. Roy, Barb, and Jeff Surdej greeted everyone with their extraordinary customer service and were so accommodating and helpful to our kids.
Suzanne made sure that all our shoppers took their time to try on as many dresses as necessary to find one that they loved and that would make their prom experience special. Of course, the dress is just the start of the prom ensemble—our kids were able to pick shoes and accessories to complete their look. Everyone was thrilled with their choices! They also received a souvenir t-shirt to cap off the fun day shopping.
To end a full day of shopping, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal together at the Greek Islands. The saganaki was an especially big hit!
Gewanda and Suzanne have been taking our young women prom dress shopping since 2013 and have made so many of our kids’ prom dreams come true over the past 10 years.
