Great Day on the Green for Mercy Home

Great Day on the Green for Mercy Home

Mercy Home was thrilled to welcome 116 golfers to our sold-out 13th annual Mercy Home Golf Classic on Monday, August 5.

While the event was ultimately cut a little short by rain, it held off long enough for our foursomes to enjoy a great day of golf and also participate in other fun games on the course, including an opportunity to challenge our own Fr. Scott Donahue’s blackjack skills, a long drive contest, and “pick-your-pin” contest, among others. Congratulations to Matt Coffey, who is our new putting champion!

Following a full day on the course, our guests gathered on the clubhouse patio to enjoy a delicious dinner and award ceremony, where Board of Directors chair Nancy Temple thanked guests for their generosity and support of our young people. Raffle winners were also chosen, and attendees were also able to purchase raffle tickets for this year’s second annual Lux Gala, Mercy Home’s signature event.

The winning foursome of Tim Schuett, Jay Eddlemon, PJ Blough, and Taylor Peters were also presented with the Jim Corrigan Memorial trophy, which honors Corrigan, a Board of Regents member who passed away earlier this year. This award was named for Corrigan because of his longtime support of our Home through the Stack Family Foundation and legacy of giving to our youth.

Our board members were a key part of making this event a tremendous success. Board of Directors member Bob Carmody brought seven foursomes out for the day.

Thank you also to our friends at James & Sons, led by Ambassador Board member Jim Sunderland and his brother John, for sponsoring the hole-in-one contest with a coveted prize of a Rolex watch. And finally, thank you to our coworkers who made this event possible, particularly Jim Marrese. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back on the links again next year!
