Chicago Mission Hockey Game Thrills Kids, Supports Mercy Home

Chicago Mission Hockey, a premier youth hockey club, recently held its second annual Mission for Mercy Showcase to benefit Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.

The UB15 Boys Chicago Mission faced off against Shattuck St. Mary’s at the MB Ice Arena, practice facility of the Chicago Blackhawks. Around 40 of our young men and women watched the game and got a tour of the arena, including the Blackhawks locker room. After the game, our boys and girls participated in a free skate with the players and enjoyed a pizza party to finish off the day.

Fr. Scott Donahue was at the game to address the crowd, while Rashaun and Destiny, two young people from Mercy Home, helped him with the ceremonial puck drop. All of our boys and girls had a wonderful time!

Guests and patrons of the event enjoyed a silent auction with over 50 items and a raffle to win a 2018 Jeep Compass. Bidders were able to bid online, as well as at the event, for a chance to win great items such as gift baskets, vacation packages, and Blackhawks tickets, among many other prizes.

Mission Hockey helped raise over $50,000, with all proceeds going directly toward the children of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.
