Our Friends First mentoring program hosted a Sports & Scavenger Hunt Day for nine of their matches! The event was a fun way for mentors and mentees to spend time one another, as well as a great opportunity to get to know other matches.
The day kicked off with a quick yoga session led by Violet, a Friends First mentor. Once the matches had warmed up and centered their Qi, they had the opportunity to participate in sports games around Mercy Home or go on a scavenger hunt throughout the city.
Those who opted for some friendly athletic competition tried their hands at racquetball and games of Knockout on the basketball court. The day culminated with a close mentor vs. mentee game of kickball—the mentees triumphed over their counterparts 7-6!
Scavenger hunt participants were meanwhile tasked with finding famous landmarks and monuments throughout the Windy City. Equipped with cameras and Ventra cards, they toured downtown and took selfies with their discoveries as proof of their findings.
Kudos to our Friends First team for organizing a creative and fun outing for their mentors and mentees!
