Maria has been with Mercy Home for Boys & Girls for a little over two years. In 2018, Maria began her journey as a youth care worker, mentoring, caring for, and teaching life skills to young men ages 14-17. In August of 2019, she stepped into her current role as Education Resource Coordinator to these same young men, supporting them in their academic lives. Maria particularly enjoys finding new approaches to managing challenging behaviors seen in teenagers in the classroom. She has been blessed to watch the young men she works with grow, learn, and overcome new barriers in the last two years.
